For anyone who has read this blog, I know, I know…this isn’t really a food blog. That being said, there are things that I want to do in the kitchen. Not regular meal planning prep (the Mrs. is WAY better at that), but dad-related things: cooking projects with the kids, over the top ridiculous recipes, silly food stuff for the kids to eat, and all things bacon-related.

This one fits in the over-the-top-ridiculous category. This is the recipe I chose to make myself, on Father’s Day, because it’s that kind of good (and that kind of not-good for you). It’s also something that everyone loves (I mean, what’s not to love; it’s French toast meets Nutella?!). It’s also super simple to make.

You can easily make this with just a couple pieces of bread or the whole loaf; It’s easy to scale. The recipe below is for a whole loaf of bread which, for the generic loaf I bought at Kroger, gave me 20 slices if you don’t count the butts (because no one’s going to eat those anyway).

And since I hate finding a recipe on a blog that’s loaded with too much exposition just to squeeze in an extra ad or two, I’ll get right to it.

To any single young men out there (I don’t know why you’re reading this as it’s a site for dads…): this is how you get the ladies. I definitely got much more attractive in college when I started watching Food Network and I learned how to cook. I wooed my wife by making muffins and cheesecake, and she’s way out of my league, just sayin’.
